HALO EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT
Privacy notice
Effective September 14, 2026
Scope
HALO Emergency Management is a commercial, tenant-isolated service operated by Byne Memorial Baptist Church, Inc. for participating schools. Each customer school controls who may access its protected emergency information and is responsible for its institutional notices, permissions, and records.
Information HALO processes
HALO may process an authorized user’s name, email address, authentication identifier, school, campus, role, device and session security information, notification token, and actions taken in the service. During an authorized drill or emergency workflow, HALO may also process check-ins, accountability status, incident-scoped communications, and location supplied with a report or check-in when the user permits it.
Schools may provide privacy-reduced daily presence information for students, staff, and visitors. The supported import is limited to a stable external identifier, display name, expected or confirmed-absent status, service date, and an optional approved campus-location code. HALO does not require grades, birthdates, medical or custody information, family contacts, discipline records, or passwords for this purpose.
How information is used
Information is used to authenticate authorized users, enforce school and campus isolation, coordinate readiness and incident workflows, support accountability and reunification, deliver service notifications, maintain security and audit records, provide support, and improve reliability. HALO does not sell personal information and does not use app activity for advertising.
Sharing and retention
Protected information is available only to authorized users and service providers that support HALO under appropriate restrictions, or when disclosure is required by law or necessary to protect safety. A school may also direct approved exports or integrations. Records are retained according to the customer agreement, applicable law, operational safety needs, and documented deletion or legal-hold requirements.
Choices, access, and security
Users may use Sign in with Apple, Google, or an invited email/password account when enabled for their school. Apple users may use Hide My Email; the resulting relay address must still be invited by the school. Users can sign out, reset a password where applicable, and ask their school administrator to correct or revoke access. HALO uses access controls, encryption in transit, tenant and campus boundaries, session revocation, and audit controls, but no system can guarantee absolute security.
Children and school records
HALO is not a consumer service for children and does not offer self-service student accounts. Any student-related presence information is provided and controlled by the participating school for emergency-management purposes.
Contact
Questions, access or deletion requests, and privacy concerns should first be directed to the participating school. Product-level requests may be submitted through the HALO operator’s secure contact form. Do not include passwords or active incident details in a public request.
